Scope

There are several scopes under OSH supervision of steam and pressure vessels

1. Design Considerations

• The construction drawings must be eligible to have sufficient scale and can be read clearly
• The data of airplane sizes and parts must be clearly stated
• Implementation of steam aircraft must meet procedures in accordance with clear standards
• Implementation of steam aircraft testing shall comply with applicable procedures

2. Placement of boiler

Steam boilers should be placed in a separate room or building separated from other workspace area.

3. Classification of Steam Vessels

The difference between a boiler and a steam vessel is its function and operation. 

• The steam boiler is a steam generator.
• Vapor vessel is a steam receiver in the continuity of a process using steam instantiation.

4. Operation of Steam Aircraft

In order for maintenance of boiler to be done properly, it is necessary to hold education and training for boiler operators and welders for steam aircraft.

Source of Dangers and its Consequences

1. Dangers On Steam Plane

• Dysfunction of manometer will result in an explosion.
• Dysfunction of safety valve causing over pressure.
• Dysfunction of level glass causing uncontrolled amount of water.
• Dysfunction of the kettle filling water causing the swelling of the vessel due to the absence of heat transfer.

2. Danger On Pressure Vessels

• Fire.
• Poisoning and irritation.
• Respiratory choking 
• Blasting.
• Exposed to very cold fluid

1. Guidelines on Execution of Inspection and Testing and Issuance of Permission of Steam Aircraft

• The main activities in conducting examination and testing.
• The main purpose in implementing the issuance of permit used.
• Inspection and testing procedures.
• Procedures for issuing a license for use of steam aircraft.

2. Guidelines on Implementation and Testing and Issuance of Approval of Use of Pressure Vessel

• Examination and testing are performed by OSH expert and specialist of steam aircraft and pressure vessels.
• Safety requirements must be adhered and regulations must be obey.
